Is it safe for the bees?
Absolutely! Think of it as a really warm day, the bees will be able to continue to work throughout the process.
What makes thermal heaters special?
Thermal programs are the only varroa management that targets both phoretic mites and those under the capped brood.
Can you use thermal with supers?
Yes you can! Although, you will not be treating the supers directly, you are able to use the Bee Sauna during the nectar flow.
How does the use of heat manage Varroa?
Basically the mites will become sterile or die due to the temperature rise, and the bees will simply carry-on with their life.
How is the Bee Sauna powered?
The Bee Sauna's program is 3 hours long, and is run on a 120V plug. There are two heaters a 300 Watt and 500 Watt that cycle during the program.
